Children, especially the growing up ones aged 5 to 10, just love playing war games. You might find them crashing their toy cars with each other and creating sounds of destruction. You will see them hiding behind the couch or under the bed, pretending to be soldiers battling the forces of evil. If you are tired of seeing your precious ceramics breaking into pieces, find your son something that would allow battle play without too much space and movement required.
If you are on the lookout for something like this, then I highly recommend something that every LEGO and Star Wars lover would appreciate: the LEGO Star Wars Armored Assault Tank.
The LEGO Star Wars Armored Assault Tank is composed of 406 pieces. When built, it measures a whopping 8 inches in length and 8 inches in width. The Armored Assault Tank (AAT) leads an army of separatist super battle droids. It has a movable heavy laser canon that actually fires canon balls and a flick firing missile. Also, the toy has a cockpit that opens, turret hatches and a detachable speeder. Five battle droids are included to the team of these super villains, three of which has arms that launch rockets. Do not be worried if the dark forces dominate the battlefield; your child will save the day with the Jedi Master Yoga mini action figure that comes with the set. Game time will surely be much more exciting as your kid and his friends defend their sides of the battleground.
This Christmas, surprise your son the LEGO Star Wars Armored Assault Tank. But if you do, be ready to be ignored for the next few days. You will only be needed if you will play the underdog part or if they cannot assemble something right. Other than that, stick with your chores because this toy will definitely keep them busy for hours on end.
A note to parents: adult supervision is required if younger children will play with this toy due to choking hazards. Recommended age is from 4 to 14 years old. Also, make sure that your kid does not target opponent’s face for a safer playtime.

I bought this set because I wanted the figures (especially Yoda) and the AAT for my Lego collection. This set comes with one awesome Yoda figure that has a very detailed printed head and torso. He also has short legs and he is equipped with a silver lightsaber hilt with a light green blade. In addition to Yoda this set comes with one normal clone trooper figure that has a printed head, torso, and helmet. He is equipped with a blaster rifle. This set also comes with three Super Battle Droid figures which are standard except for awesome new rocket-launcher arms. In addition to the Super Battle Droids this set comes with two normal battle droid figures. The AAT itself is a fairly complex build and when finished it looks very tough and intimidating. The tank is equipped with a primary blaster turret which rotates and moves up and down; this turret is manned by one of the normal battle droids. The AAT is also equipped with four secondary blaster cannons (two on each side of the cockpit) that double as flick-missiles. The tank also has a cockpit that doubles as an escape speeder; the other normal battle droid mans the cockpit. Well, here are the basics of the set:
The good things
Yoda
Lightsaber
Clone trooper
Blaster rifle
Super battle Droids
Battle Droids
Tank
Primary blaster turret
Secondary blaster cannons
Escape speeder
The bad things
Stickers
Flick-missiles
Battle droids should have blue torsos
Over all, I highly recommend this set.

Santa brought this set to my almost 7 year old. I was worried that he would not be able to assemble it by himself since the age range on the box is older than he is. Boy was I surprised. He did a great job putting it together and did it all by himself. He was so proud that he could do it alone and he has enjoyed playing with it ever since. This toy was a big hit for my Lego fan!! Another bonus is it has several people in it too which he was thrilled about.

I purchased this Lego Assault Weapon for my 11 year old grandson. The day after he received it, he spread the parts on the floor, looked at the instructions and proceeded to put it all together. I liked the quality of the toy after its assembly. Shane received it on the 8th and he continues to enjoy having it and playing with it. I thought it was educational in that Shane had to folliow all the instructions accompanying it and was successful in completing its construction. For me, personally, I appreciate the fact that it is still together w/o having pieces drop off so often that it becomes frustrating for the owner to use it. A BIG plus! :) I would recommend it to others.

This is a really fun Lego set. It looks really cool when put together. I bought it for my son's 11th birthday and he LOVES it. He really loves Star Wars Lego sets, and this was no exception. His 8-year-old brother actually put it together for him, so it is not too complicated. It is fairly priced, especially if you are an Amazon Prime member and get free shipping.

Let me tell you the good things and bad things first. bad:When making the tank I found out that it was a very very brakeable piece it fell apart twice so it took me two days to build it and it would fall backwards alot so piece's would go everywhere.GOOD:This is a very cool machine. The stickers are cool and so are the guns it is a cool toy because it will keep you busy for about 2 to 3 days the master yoda is awsome and super battle droids don't get me started. What I like about the tank is that alot of things move.So if you want a good battle THEN BUY IT!!!!!! :note:the battle droids body's are backwards.

NICE TANK and MINI-FIGS!

Nice looking and well designed tank.
A fairly easy build but it comes with some neat stuff...
PRO's-a small hidden patrol car that holds one of the Battle Droids which comes out the back of tank(and can be seen from a hatch below the top hatch), 4 flick fire missiles, top hatch can close neatly with Battled Droid inside and 7 minifigures(2 Battle Droids, 3 Super Battle Droids, One Clone Tropper and the best of which is a real nice Yoda figure). Yoda's head is actually made of a soft plastic/rubber. Nicely scuplted. Would recommend this model. Fun to play with and it moves very well on smooth surfaces with several shallow domed shaped pieces below the vehicle to simulate a slight hover effect.
CON's-Guns to the left and right fall off from time to time. Wish it had a tighter fit or set deeper into the side arms of the tank. Two front stickers to simulate a metal plate could've been subsituted with a lego brick plate to look a little better. Recommend when you put the stickers there, make sure they line up with each other have a nice symetrical look. |

I bought this set for my 5 year-old son. Took him about 3 half days to complete it. He absolutely loves this set. However, it can't stand on it's own without tipping over to the back.
